We met when we both started working at my college apartments within a week of each other. Our matron of honor had recommended Garrett for his job and had hired me (Thanks Ashlyn!!). We developed a friendship for the next several months, bonding over the awfulness of cleaning apartments after move out.

After months of distracting each other at work and being not at all subtle about our feelings for each other, we started dating in November of 2021. We were able to keep our relationship a secret from our boss for a whole 2 months someone sold us out (again thanks Ashlyn).

We decided to move in together in the fall of 2022, and had a lot of fun balancing my neuroticism with his ADHD.

We became paw-rents April 21st of 2023. Garrett instantly became Pats person, while I was resigned to be the extra person who gives him food sometimes.

Garrett pulled off an incredible surprise proposal on the 4th of July 2024! He coordinated with my family to do it in the place I love most and to be able to celebrate with the people I love most.

A few months later we packed up and moved to North Carolina. We stayed in North Carolina for exactly 1 year and 2 weeks before moving back to good ol' Michigan. That year forced us to rely only on each other; and even though neither of us thought it was possible, we became closer than ever.

Now for the next step in our story, we get to make it official August 29th!
